The Purveyor

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams  with open eyes, to make it possible. — T.E. Lawrence

This is my blog, The Purveyor of Dreams. I began this website to promote my interests.

I am acting on my dreams.

WHO am I?

I am an avid reader and an aspiring writer. I enjoy a well written story. Almost any genre excites me, but I do have a particular fondness for mystery and adventure, science fiction and fantasy — and, romance.

WHAT are my interests?

I want to write stories and convince others to write their own. To this end, I’ll provide content that I find useful. This may come in the form of how-to tutorials, lists of tips, or anything that catches my eye.

I also want to showcase the work of other authors whom I enjoy. The first of these authors can be found here and their works can be found here. If you derive any satisfaction from their efforts, please consider supporting them by purchasing a book or by leaving a review.

WHEN did you first decide to become a blogger?

To paraphrase the BBC’s Doctor Who, you might say I’ve had the idea all my life. As the oldest child, I’ve sometimes felt like an extrovert forced to live a fiction as an introvert. Perhaps that is why I like fiction so much. I have been writing to an internal audience. Now, I wish for an external one.

WHERE do I want this to go?

Why, to Publishing and Peddling, of course! I want to self-publish and sell books. Books that are written by me and by others. I also want to reprint select Public Domain works that I believe are worth it. My intention is to turn this blog into a profitable business model that will enable me to quit my day job and to pursue that which truly inspires me.

WHY start a blog?

What better way to fulfill my dreams than to show them to the world. To lay it on the line. Lao Tzu, the Chinese philosopher, said that “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

This is step number one.

Welcome to The Purveyor of Dreams.
